چکیده

BACKGROUND: The safety and efficacy of transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) posterior (PLIF) in spondylolisthesis have not been validated many prospective randomized trials. AIM: We aimed to validate the TLIF PLIF surgery using clinical, radiographic, cost-utility outcomes. METHODS: data surgically treated single-level patients were prospectively into two groups. groups compared regarding demographics, perioperative complications, hospital stay, total expenditure, rate, clinical outcomes (visual analog scale, Oswestry disability index, Zurich claudication Odom’s criteria). A review literature was done compare with ones from higher-income nations. RESULTS: Thirty-three underwent randomization. improvement at 12-month follow-up showed group more than but no significant difference. mean operative time significantly longer (p < 0.05), also, blood loss less 0.001). complications frequency did show any statistical significance between both difference patient’s post-operative patient satisfaction = 0.6). stay non-significantly 0.7). At follow-up, 93.3% fused versus 86.7% 0.5). cost CONCLUSION: Both could achieve similar rates management spondylolisthesis. better terms financial burden, time, loss.

Comparison between transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and posterior lumbar interbody fusion in treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis

The aim of this study was to compare the clinical efficacy between transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) and posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) in treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis. A total of 62 patients with lumbar spondylolisthesis were treated at our hospital from 2010 to 2013. These patients were divided into a TLIF group that included 36 patients (mean age: 60 years) and...

Curb the Pain of Spondylolisthesis; Comparing Posterolateral Fusion with Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion

Background & Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the pain of patients with spondylolisthesis who had undergone either of the surgery techniques: posterolateral fusion (PLF) or posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF). Methods & Materials/Patients: In a prospective observational study, 102 surgical candidates with low grade degenerative and isthmic spondylolisthesis were e...

Comparing minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and posterior lumbar interbody fusion for spondylolisthesis

Although spondylolisthesis was traditionally treated with posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF), minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MIS-TLIF) was recently proposed as an alternative treatment for spondylolisthesis. However, no studies have focused on the comparison of these 2 techniques' outcome on spondylolisthesis. The operative reports and perioperative data of pati...

A comparison of posterior lumbar interbody fusion and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion: a literature review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND We compared the perioperative results and complications associated with PLIF and TLIF, and collected evidence for choosing the better fusion method. METHODS A literature survey of the MEDLINE and EMBASE databases identified 7 comparative observational studies that met our inclusion criteria. Checklists by Cowley were used to evaluate the risk of bias of the included studies. A data...

STUDY DESIGN Level 4 retrospective review. PURPOSE To compare the radiographic and clinical outcomes between posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) and lateral lumbar interbody fusion (LLIF) with posterior segmental spinal instrumentation (SSI) for degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis. OVERVIEW OF LITERATURE Both PLIF and LLIF have been performed for degenerative spondylolisthesis with g...
